The Crown of Righteousness

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

Dear Heavenly Father, the Apostle Paul fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. In prison or free, in want or plenty, Paul relentlessly pursued your Crown of Righteousness. What an exemplary life! Two thousand years later, in comfort or discomfort, wealth or poverty, and in dispair or joy, may we all be so bold, so faithful, and so steadfast in our love for your son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Oh how we long for Jesus to return! Until then, strengthen us Father for what lies ahead, so we can boldly rebuke the enemy and proclaim our faith and love for You. In Christ, to our last breath, may we fight the good fight; finish the race; and keep the faith! Lord, you are faithful! We long for that fine day, when we will stand in your presence and receive your Crown of Righteousness! Come Lord Jesus!  Amen
